HALLDÉN Björn (H-11)

A Swedish composer, lyricist and conductor. Halldén was basically trained in piano. He became a student in 1881 and a student at the Academy of Music in 1885. He made his debut as a theater bandmaster in the countryside in 1886, and was then employed by Anna Norrie and at the Vasateatern in Stockholm in 1888. After that, he was at Stora Teatern in Gothenburg, Djurgårdsteatern, Svenska Teatern, Arenateatern, among others , Folkteatern in Gothenburg and Södra Teatern in Stockholm. In the years 1900–1909 he led the Dramatiska Teatern's orchestra. Halldén was engaged in 1917 by Ernst Rolf to his cabaret and in 1919 helped Karl Gerhard when he debuted as a couplet singer. He was also active as a translator of operettas, plays and comedies.
