A German-estonian singer, composer and organist. Studied in Dresden. Lived in Revel since 1815. He worked as a singer and music techer and travelled widely including Vienna and Berlin. From 1827 to 1854 he was organist of the Oali-Korche in Revel. Mainly a composer of vocal music, he published the first Estonian language organ tutor in 1841. Founding member of Estonian singers union. His compositions includes songs, chants, musical plays, operettas, choral songs, 1 oratorio for the opening of the rebuilt Church of St. Olai.
