GUSCHELBAUER Edmund (G-105)

16/10/1839, Vienna, Austria-Hungary Empire - 06/02/1912, same place

Viennese folk singer and a couplet poet. One of the most important performers of this genre. He successfully embodied the type of the “original Viennese” of the “old style” with comic singing and an intimate presentation style. He also introduced the custom of letting the audience sing along to the refrains, which was enthusiastically received by them.
