Comments

Although this medal was dated 1787 as death commemorative medal by Paul Niggl, this is not possible because Karl Voigt was born in 1800. Evidently it was struck between 1820-1825 when Voigt worked at the Medallic establishment of G.Loos whose monogram "G.L.DIR" is presented at the averse of the medal next to Voigt's name. At the same time Christoph Pfeuffer who made the obverse of the medal was born in 1801 and entered Loos Die-sinking establishment as engraver in 1821.
