Spanish composer who is considered one of the most eminent composers of the Sardana period. He infused the sardana with musical values at the level of symphonic work, and had a creative category without peer with any other sardanista author. His love for Richard Strauss music considerably influenced his symphonic and chamber music production (a sonata for cello, the Pastoral, suite empordanesa or Les illes Medes for Orchestra and the concerto for violin and orchestra), but gives his sardanas a unique character, very original, symphonic poems for cobla.
