Croatian composer and conductor. He has performed more than 250 different works, conducted more than 1,900 times, and is the author of more than 40 compositions comprising chamber works, choral songs and church music. He studied music in Zagreb, Vienna, Paris and London. For 2 years since 1887 he was the conductor of the Zagreb opera. His merit was the founding of the ballet as a separate ensemble and enriching the repertoire, especially with the operas of Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Massenet, Puccini, Bizet, Beethoven and other composers. Since 1924 until his death he was president of the Croatian singing Association.
