Austrian composer and conductor. Pupil of Anton Bruckner. He performed as a pianist and organist, and conducted the Vienna Singing Academy from 1891, being its head in 1898-1899. In 1891-1942 he was choirmaster of the Vienna Church of the Piarists. He also led the amateur choir of the Austrian Railways for many years. He is the author of the operas "Angel" and "The Debt of Love" (Liebesschule), various religious choral compositions.
