Slovak composer who is considered the founder of Slovak operetta and modern Slovak light music. While still a student in Vienna conservatory, he wrote his first operetta, Tisíc metrov lásky , which premiered at the Slovak National Theatre in 1935 . In 1939 he became an employee of the Slovak Union of Composers (Slovenský autorský zväz in Slovak, the predecessor of today's SOZA organization), in 1949 he was appointed director and remained there until 1974. In 1942, he also founded his own music publishing house. existed until 1948. Dushik has composed more than 250 dance songs in his life.
