Soviet, Russian and Armenian singer (coloratura mezzo-soprano). She studied violin at the Gnessin Music College (1933-1938). In 1939, she entered the Yerevan Opera Theater without a specialized higher musical education. Since 1944 – on the chamber stage: soloist of the All–Union Radio and Television, since 1959 - soloist of the Moscow Philharmonic. In 1957 she graduated from the Music Pedagogical Institute named after Gnessin (class of V.N. Belyaeva-Tarasevich), where she taught since 1972 (since 1983 – professor). She had a voice of a huge range ‒ from a deep mezzo-soprano to a high soprano ‒ and impeccable vocal technique. She had a delicate taste and a great sense of style of the work. Leaving the opera stage early, she began performing as a concert singer. Her repertoire consisted of classical opera roles, including Rosina from "The Barber of Seville" and Cinderella from the opera of the same name by J. Rossini, Cherubino from "The Wedding of Figaro" by W. Mozart, Denise from "The Wedding by Lanterns" by J. Offenbach, Angelica from "Sister Angelica" by J. Puccini.
