Italian tenor particularly known for his roles in Rossini operas. Son of the opera singer Giacomo David (1750-1830). He studied with his father. He made his debut in 1808 on stage in Siena in the opera "Adelaide di Guesclino" by S. Maira. In 1810-1822 he sang in various theaters in Italy (since 1816 — soloist of the San Carlo Opera House in Naples). In 1830-1831 he performed on the stages of Paris and London. In 1839 he left the stage. From 1844 until the end of his life he worked as director of the Italian Opera in St. Petersburg.
