Belgian musicologist. He researched the life and work of Andre Gretry, published a book about him (1920), was co-editor of his four-volume collected works (1919-1922). From 1896 he worked at the Brussels Museum of Musical Instruments, in 1924-1936 he was its director. He wrote an overview work "Production of musical instruments in Belgium" (French: La Facture des instruments de musique en Belgique; 1935), dedicated to the 1935 World Exhibition in Brussels. At the same time, in 1912-1935, Professor of music History at the Brussels Conservatory.
