Stanisław BOCIANOWSKI - A well-known and respected optician from Dąbrowa. Social and cultural activist. He was born in Druzhkovka near Kharkov. He came to Poland with his father in 1918. He graduated from primary school in 1924. In the years 1928-1935 he worked at Huta Bankowa in Dąbrowa Górnicza as a precision locksmith, and in the meantime he completed a technical course in 1931 and an accounting and commercial course. In 1935, he founded a watchmaker's workshop in Dąbrowa, and then a branch in Sosnowiec. The plants were occupied in 1942 by the Germans. Until 1945, he held the position of manager in a German watchmaker's factory in Sosnowiec. Member of the "White Eagle Association". After the war, he reopened his watchmaking and optical workshop. In 1975, he became the Chairman of the Optometrists' Industry Committee. He held this position until 1983. In his house at ul. Konopnicka, founded a private museum "House of Souvenirs of the Past", the ceremonial opening of which took place on October 17, 1982. In front of the house there are two monuments: one dedicated to the "Orzeł Biały" underground organization and the other to Fryderyk Chopin. The last President of the Dąbrowa Music Society, founded in 1900. Organizer of numerous musical and historical events. Music lover Fr. Chopin. He was a member of the Society of Friends of the Book in Katowice, the Society of Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw, as well as a correspondent of the Chopin Museum in Valdemosa, Majorca. He was awarded, among others, the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Krakow Army Cross, and the Badge of Meritorious Cultural Activist. The Municipal Public Library in Dąbrowa Górnicza received most of the Bocianowski family's collection as a gift. These include: books, magazines from the interwar period, photographs, postcards and music collections.
