Belgian composer and choirmaster. He studied music at the Brussels Conservatory with L. Dubois and at the Paris Schola Cantorum with V. d'Endy. He worked as a choirmaster of the Royal theatre "De la Monnaie" in Brussels for 26 years. His the most famous lyrical opera is "The Merchant of Venice".
