ALCHEVSKY Ivan (A-22)

Russian opera singer (tenor). He performed in Mariinsky Opera Theater in St.Petersburg, in Bolshoi and Zimin's Opera Theater in Moscow and the most part of European and American famous opera theaters in Paris, London, Brussels, Boston and New York as well. He had an absolute ear and a wonderful musical memory. His soft timbre voice had an extensive range. In 1909 - 1912 he headed the Moscow circle of "Kobzar" to promote works by Ukrainian composers; he made reports about modern Ukrainian music.
