1. The prize in the field of musical and theatrical art and educational activities was established by the Irina Arkhipova Foundation in 2000 (Gold, Silver and Bronze medals).
2. The prize has been awarded annually since 2001 to musical theatres and collectives, singers and conductors, directors and artists, musicians, instrumentalists and composers, for outstanding achievements related to music.
3. The first three years the prize was awarded on January 1 - on the eve of the Arkhipova's birthday, later the date was moved to April 1 - the day of her debut at the Bolshoi theater in Moscow.
4. The medal by means of an eye and a ring is connected to a block of irregular shape.
5. The image of the "Gold" medal is given.
