Swedish music director, pianist and composer. He was trained at The Music Conservatory in Stockholm and took lessons with Clara Schumann in Berlin. In 1886 he founded Music School in Stockholm, and in 1890 became a member of the Royal Swedish Musical Academy. He was also a teacher at the Conservatory and was appointed professor in 1912.
